thoughts...

I've been thinking about things. about how school is... where i've ended up... and i should look on the bright side...things could be worse. at least i was given the opportunity to do research at a reputable university, even if it is with an evil prof. i enjoy what i'm doing so i should just keep the positive thoughts and remember my goals.
it turns out that our paper that we recently submitted to a conference was rejected, possibly due to crappiness rather than lateness. some papers that were submitted later than ours were accepted. but the redemption comes from the fact that my research up till now has got a couple of local engineering companies very interested and so they are giving us some cash (sweeet). so you never know i guess...the cheesy moral is to always stay positive and never let anything discourage or demotivate you from what you like to do. something else is around the corner.

Iran

Collection of papers taken from BBC:

Saudi Arabia's Al-Riyad

Encouraging Israel, supplying it with the material and scientific means and encouraging it to create a balance of terror in the region is the main cause for seeking weapons equal in strength and deterrence.

Oman's Oman

Israel's nuclear weapons and nuclear reactors constitute the real danger to the security and stability of the region and the whole world. If we are asking Iran to be transparent in its nuclear dealings, then we also ask the other big countries to be more transparent.

Egypt's Al-Jumhuriyah

No to double standards - Israel relies on its nuclear arsenal to carry out an expansionist aggressive policy and to reject any just settlement to the Palestinian issue. As a consequence, the international community's failure to address this aggressive nuclear arsenal removes the credibility of any international move to prevent others from attempting to follow in Israel's footsteps.

Jordan's Al-Dustur

Why do we not also possess the nuclear weapons to protect our security in the midst of a forest of nuclear arsenals and repel the hostile forces which possess such a weapon and which are not deterred by the international law?

Egypt's Al-Wafd

When the Iranian president Ahmedinejad sneezes the whole of the West shudders... because nobody knows the final destination of the Iranian nuclear train. There are several important considerations, including the fact that Ahmedinejad does not joke, is not looking for a role, is not raving mad and is not concerned about being a box office star in the international circus. The only thing which concerns him is Iran and its place on the world map.

Iran's Iran Daily

Iran is the only country to have allowed the highest number of IAEA inspections of its nuclear sites in recent memory. Now this process of systematic cooperation is being challenged at home and undermined abroad. With politics, power, greed and the dangerous Israeli influence overshadowing Western national interest, wisdom and reason with respect to Iran's nuclear programme, the patience in Tehran is fast running out.

As if the irresponsible and often clumsy attempts by the US-led Western alliance against our civilian nuclear activities were not enough, IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei jumped into the fray at the weekend. The able diplomat who has long enjoyed respect in Tehran because of his integrity, independence and impartial manner, added his voice to the Western tune. His tilt towards the openly anti-Iran lobbies... can best be described as lethal and not in the best interest of the agency he leads.

Iran's Resalat

In order to deprive Iran of its right of access to nuclear technology, America has launched a propaganda campaign against the Islamic republic and claims that Iran's nuclear programme poses a threat to the West. While the result of unprecedented inspections by the IAEA has given no indication about the non-peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear activities, today, America, as a country that possesses the highest number of nuclear weapons and shows no trace of hesitancy in using them, as the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki bears witness to, poses a serious threat to peace and security in the world.

harshness

some prick of a fuck doesn't know how to control his shit so he beats his daughter..what the hell man?? it's really sad. the girl was about my little sisters age.

The state, which has custody of the girl, had asked for her ventilator and feeding tube to be withdrawn after doctors said she was in an irreversible vegetative state.

Haleigh was hospitalised in September 2005 after she was allegedly kicked and beaten with a baseball bat.

Mr Strickland, who has been charged with assault, says Haleigh was suffering from an emotional disorder, and that her injuries were self-inflicted.

-BBC

Haleigh Poutre is still in a coma...he would be beheaded in saudi arabia for shit like this. but you know, there's still the chance that she actually did beat the shit out of herself with a baseball bat...you never know...heh yup.

Iran

Iran wants nuclear facilities but they're apparently not to be trusted. Half of their graduate students come to Canada and the US for grad studies! Oh but wait..does that mean they are ACTUALLY here to kill us all? If they could pull their heads out of their asses they'd see that these immigrants are quite bright and eager to building the future...not some woman beating neanderthals that want shit loads of bombs to fuck the world.

"The issue of Iran's nuclear weapons program is a classic threat to international peace and security"

John Bolton
US Ambassador to the UN

Ya, well the problem is that the status of "international threat" is determined by the ideals of a few men and women in the US. Some of which should definately not be making such decisions. Nuclear weapons program? Already jumping to conclusions eh?

The US does not want to see anyone else building and nuclear devices because they are scared. But why be scared if you're such a good cop? Because they should not have been able to do half the shit they've done without more research into the problems. Most research unfortuntely goes into their bottom line.

"What they're engaged in is stirring up a lot of chaff. They've started up their diplomatic fog machine here."

US State Department spokesman Sean McCormack

NOOO! kill'em all! We don't trust'em!

Fog machine that covers what? The bomb factory? It's funny...the sad truth is that I hope they DO build nuclear arms because it seems to be the only way for the US to leave them the fuck alone. There are problems in the world but come on! US methods of problem solving...they choose to use a bazooka to dig a hole when a simple shovel will do.

gta Montreal

I had my first real life inactment of a sheep in grand theft auto last night. It was around 10pm and I was in the metro on my way home. Before I even reached BERRI-UQAM to make my transfer up the orange line to JEAN-TALON, we ran into some trouble at SAINT LAURENT station.

The train didn't move and people were wondering why the doors weren't closing and the train wasn't carrying on with the journey. I started hearing noise through my headphones and so I took them off and peeked outside the doors to where the noise was coming from. A crowd of people were running towards me (I happened to be near an exit) yelling shit like 'HE'S GOT A GUN!' and 'GET THE HELL OUT!' and 'AAAAA!'. I ran like a bitch and walked the streets south to the orange line to continue on home.

I gave Anna a call and she had a good point that it was strange that the screaming was english. I think I just have a good french filter. I'm just hoping that my next experience isn't any closer to the gun.

Karma's a bitch eh?

Mr. Ariel Sharon had a minor stroke about a month ago. It turned out that he had a hole in his heart and thus, they scheduled him for surgery. Funny enough, his surgery date was scheduled for the 5th of January and what happened? He had a major stroke on the 4th.

I am going to be cruel on this one and say that I have no sympathy for this monster. Many people would infact be upset with calling myself cruel, namely, Palestinians. Well before this psycho became prime minister, he was responsible for ridding Israel and Lebanon (where Palestinians fled to camps) of the vermin...the Palestinians.

If you want a real understanding of the situation, you have to go back to the early 1900's, before the 40's, which shows the progression of a British ruled country into Israel. But what's important is that it is history. We should never forget, but it is done. The atrocities that ensued (and are still occuring) following the forming of Israel are unforgivable and MUST STOP. The major architect...Sharon.

He is a heartless psychopath. As far as I'm concerned, the hole in his heart is just proof.
