thoughts...
I've been thinking about things. about how school is... where i've ended up... and i should look on the bright side...things could be worse. at least i was given the opportunity to do research at a reputable university, even if it is with an evil prof. i enjoy what i'm doing so i should just keep the positive thoughts and remember my goals.
it turns out that our paper that we recently submitted to a conference was rejected, possibly due to crappiness rather than lateness. some papers that were submitted later than ours were accepted. but the redemption comes from the fact that my research up till now has got a couple of local engineering companies very interested and so they are giving us some cash (sweeet). so you never know i guess...the cheesy moral is to always stay positive and never let anything discourage or demotivate you from what you like to do. something else is around the corner.

Hey you didn't tell me about the interest in your research! That's awesome. I don't think you should be very hard on yourself. If everything were to go to shit and the world was in anarchy, it wouldn't change the fact that you are the most patient, intelligent, positive (well except for Krista) and thoughtful person I have known. Those qualities will count for more than a paper or some interest from any company can, in the long run.
ok enough.
i mean, what if zombies were to start populating (or depopulating) the earth? Having quick reflexes and an attitude people trust will be the qualities most desirable, besides weapons I guess...
thanks! ......girlfriend speak :P
i'm afraid when it comes to zombie hunting, things might go bad. better get a pistol and some nunchucks.
Hi Tarek, I was just blog surfing and found you! Wow, I really like this one.
It’s such a pleasure to read your post …. Interesting! I was over at another site
looking at retainer
and they didn't go into as much detail as you, but nonetheless interesting.
Hey Tarek,
Don't give up. You can do it. It's always great to have a great leader as advisor. But the truth is that great leaders are rare. If your advisor is not a great leader then you'll have to learn from his errors to become one. Don't worry. We're in the same boat. Keep up the good attitude. I look forward to hear from you when I come back.
